Kié Einzelgänger Exhibition II — “Evidence”
Kié Einzelgänger Exhibition II — “Evidence”
Following the inaugural fine arts exhibition S M L — Which Size Is Your Bowl in March 2026, Kié Einzelgänger continues to expand its interdisciplinary dialogue with Tommy Simoens Contemporary Art Gallery. This new chapter, titled Evidence, further deepens the ongoing exploration between fashion and fine art that defines the practice. This exhibition will unveil the new potential medium that fashion and art can share unceasingly.
Set within a historic Raamtheater on De Vrièrestraat 36 in Antwerp, the exhibition marks both a continuation and an evolution—a space where garments and artworks coexist as parallel forms of inquiry and narratives.
Presented as part of Antwerp Fashion Festival, with the support of the City of Antwerp and Flanders District of Creativity, Evidence brings together the latest developments from Kié Einzelgänger. The exhibition unveils the AW26–27 and SS27 capsule collections alongside a new series of fine art works.
Rather than positioning fashion and art as distinct disciplines, Evidence dissolves their boundaries through shared references and narratives, inviting audiences to reflect on the origins of each piece—tracing how both garments and artworks emerge from the same conceptual source.
Exhibition A - S M L WHICH SIZE IS YOUR BOWL?
Kié Einzelgänger and Tommy Simoens present S M L Which Size is your Bowl, an eight-day exhibition bringing together new visual artworks and selected fashion pieces by Kié Einzelgänger.
The presentation features hand-painted collages, sculptural objects, and garments, unified by a shared conceptual framework while maintaining a clear distinction between artistic and fashion practices. Central to the exhibition is the recurring question: “Which size is your bowl?”—a phrase that gestures toward psychological capacity, containment, and vulnerability in relation to personal trauma.
As a visual artist, Kié Einzelgänger presents new collage works and objects incorporating tape, broken coloured glass, and symbolic forms such as bowls, hands, keys, and bottles. New works from the ongoing series Yesterday Is Not Here, created in collaboration with Japanese digital artist Blue Phantom, are also shown.
Running in parallel, a curated selection of garments from Kié Einzelgänger’s AW26-27 highlights complex pattern-making and material precision. Designed in Belgium and produced in Japan, the garments emphasise craft, structure, and slow production.

Concept & Technique
All pattern-making, fabric prototyping, and print design are independently developed by Kié. The complete production process—including the execution of highly detailed printing techniques—is carried out and finished by specialized professionals at production sites in Japan. Through this process, two-dimensional prints are transformed into sculptural, wearable three-dimensional shirt forms. By positioning the garment itself as a sculptural medium, the language of fine art converges with fashion.
Rooted in concept-driven narrative scenarios titled Evidences, this body of work forms the conceptual backbone of the exhibition Which Size Is Your Bowl: S / M / L. Each piece emerges from a rigorously structured narrative framework, situating the garments as carriers of meaning rather than decorative objects.
Sourced/produced in Japan by specialized professionals, the printed works employ a rare rayon fabric seldom encountered within European fashion contexts. Precision, material integrity, and meticulous craftsmanship define the production process, reinforcing an ongoing dialogue between artistic expression and wearable form.
Moving beyond its earlier, strictly all-black visual language, Kié Einzelgänger introduces a narrative-led identity enriched with humor and emotional nuance, while maintaining intellectual rigor and formal discipline. Informed by over a decade of sustained research into Dadaism and Surrealism, the visual language operates at the intersection of fine art practice and fashion, framing clothing as a medium for conceptual inquiry rather than surface design.
Each piece functions simultaneously as artwork and garment, deliberately collapsing the boundary between exhibition space and everyday wear. All artworks and print techniques are entirely hand-dyed and uniquely developed by Kié Einzelgänger, ensuring that every piece remains singular, irreproducible, and conceptually autonomous.
